It's that silly season again where you gorge yourself silly on the heatiest of food XD

Happy Lunar New Year! ^^

For me, it's the perfect yearly excuse to have loads of mandarin oranges (and thereafter unsurprisingly fall sick from the citrus overdose) =P

Wherever you may be, and whomever you may be with, have a great start to the year of the tiger!

On a not so happy note, the new year this time round will feel a little subdue with the passing on of Lee McQueen.

His designs aren't everyone's cup of tea, but fabulous tailoring and iconic avant garde silhouettes ensured that Alexander McQueen creations were a fresh breath of air in the increasingly staid world of haute couture.

In short, growing up reading about his creations in the local newspapers does leave an impact, even when I was the teenage sort-of tomboy scorning clothes that weren't practical as a waste of money XD

Summer vacation, here I come! =D

*Yup, summer! It's the sunny season in the southern hemisphere, though technically Malaysia's always tropical XD *

I've found my new "I feel so depressed today" anthem XD

Listening to the lyrics for the first time, I was like wow... that's so me when I'm in my GAD (general anxiety disorder - it's an actual diagnosis, no kidding X_X) mood and it feels like evrything's crashing and burning.

Uh-huh. I know. Weird people and their idiosyncrasies =P

Oh, and the gal in the video's hot! XD I want to be able to pull of the rocker chic look too... except my face is too innocent =.=

Anyhow, Penang's on Monday! ^^ Hoping there'll be a little excursion to Chowrasta's second hand bookshops.

My idea of bliss:

Digging for "gems" among stacks of dusty old classics. Yea... geek, much? XD

Kyaaa! @@

I've been MIA for so long on my bloggu :(

My modem fried and sizzled on Monday, in a heavy thunderstorm. I've a new one now but guess what? I don't know how to connect to the wireless at my house through my laptop T.T (Noob, noob NOOB! >.< )

So, I have to use the computer in the study room, accompanied by lots and lots of mosquitoes that like to feast on me. Gee!

Ok, here's the plan - if you can call it a plan -

...I'm going to do a write up of the blogshops I've shopped at!

(Sorry Jo, I know you hate 'em)

No cover-ups, no sugar coating, just the bare truths. Brownies will be awarded if deserved and slush will be flung appropriately too ^^

This will only be up tentatively around end Feb/early March though. I've got to clear out of my house and move to the new (better!) one by February, so let this pack rat put her (many many) stuff into boxes first yea? XD

In the mean time, muacks! Take care and stay safe.

P/S: I'm heading north to Penang 25-28th February with friends! *pray our hotel not haunted k?* =P

Omigosh, Omigosh, Omigosh!

NYAAAAAAAAAA~!

XD

Who said university libraries were boring eh? =P

My very unexpected find:

It's fate! :P

I love the cover design and the lace pattern. Everything from font to colours go very well with the Lolita side of the novel.

Ahh, Monash Sunway library book stockist... whoever you are, sankyuuuuuu for this pop culture gem of a novel! (In hardcover too, oh you're such a saint! ^^ )

This is the very book by Novala Takemoto on which the Kamikaze Girls movie is based on. The very same movie that made me first aware of Lolita Brand (yup, Brand with a much revered capital B) clothing.

Baby, the Stars Shine Bright!

Staff of BTSSB, one of the most well-known sweet lolita Brands ^^
http://www.kamikazegirls.net/isobe.html

*Yes! It's a bit of a dream job*

Although the older me has come to love Metamorphose more than BTSSB, the thrill still remains XD

Metamorphose is IMO slightly more Sweet Classic Lolita and a little more flattering for those above 16 years old, as there is the cut-off age even among the rorita community where sweet becomes vile.

Anyway, the movie is on my must watch list after I've moved house on the 11th, as a reward for "making the move" ^^

*I never got around to watching it although it's been years. With the book though, now's probably the right time :) *

The trailer looks so deliciously promising!

Ahh, forget about the trailer, even the movie posters are rabu-rabu material :D

I've heard great stuff about Anna Tsuchiya's take on the motorbike riding, Yanki gyaru Ichigo ;)

Finally, I leave you with an article on Vivienne Westwood's legendary Rocking Horse Ballerina shoes ^^

I'm alive!

Ahh, 2010, be gentle k? =P

Anyone going for Nuffang's Paranormal Activity screening on Tuesday, 5th Jan?

Just watched Alvin and the Chipmunks 2 today ^^

If you've noticed the Youtube section on my sidebar, no points for guessing why I wanted to watch the squeakquel (didn't even watch the first one) XD

Chipettes! *Ahem... found out it sounds like a horny word when pronounced in the Cantonese dialect, but.... but the girls are adorable!* =P

The movie makes you want to go out and buy the Chipmunk-ed soundtrack, keke.

Chipmunks: Right Round

Chipettes: Hot n Cold (^^)

Ohh, wanna know what's sucking my time and distracting me from my online social life? =.=

This uber addictive place where you can "browser shop" and click, click, click to look at all sorts of things.

Ya lor, http://www.taobao.com (China-based online auction/shopping platform)

Lolita and cosplay clothing; trendy Japanese brands (some sellers have authentic Cecil stuff!); Korean fashion knock-offs... lots of stuffu!

Haha, I'm contend just to look but time flies by so quickly. So no more long hours on TaoBao >.<

P/S: KF's not done with the pics yet. Club's been busy lately preparing for the upcoming sem's activities.
