[Listening : SOMEHOW - w-inds ]
[Mood : ^^ ]

Omigosh... There are Skittles flavoured Lip Smackers! Two of my absolute favourites! Where can I get some? XD

Hehe... well, you know la, I go weak in the knees when my eyes catch sight of Skittles. My mum used to have to ban me from buying them because of the liberal usage of colouring that makes each skittle look so tempting. Guess that's why I still rarely buy myself Skittles, especially since now they come in tiny little fun-size packaging instead (I want those big, huge bags! =p )

But, one good thing, the sour ones are so syiok! Nothing beats the original, but the sour variant comes dangerously close ^^

And... erm.... I have a soft spot for Bonne Bell's lip glosses, even more so if a particular tube of gloss has the words 'Lip Smacker' printed on it.

So... the ultimate love affair - Skittles flavoured Lip Smackers ^^

Btw, 15 years of Math has come to an end! I'll probably only be looking at Statistics after this. But... I think I'm going to miss death by Math torture learning Math. Perhaps I am a sadist XD

Actually, I can't really explain the joie de vivre I'm currently feeling. I'm probably not going to do that well in Math, and maybe even fare badly in it. In fact, the whole time, my mind was going 'come on, just 60+/141... that's all I dare hope for at this point'. And I couldn't sleep last night as well.

However, once in the exam venue... I started to feel calm. Perhaps it's because it rained this morning. Rain just has this really soothing effect on me, as if it's washing away all the negative emotions and thoughts inside. And after handing up the paper, it was such a wonderful feeling, like soaring! Maybe the venue had good feng shui too XD

And... I hate to admit this, because essentially I've made up my mind that he's not the one and I'm going to give up (again!), but I was secretly happy to see him. Gah! Baka!

And there is something Adele has to do.... I feel quite bad about it. The next time (or next next time, don't know why it's so hard for me to smile when I'm nervous >_< ) I see 'her', I will let out a curve of the lips that's from the heart (but pleeease don't let it be after a particularly worrisome/bothersome/just plain bad day when I would be half-hearted even with my closest friends)

It's just that, I guess I keep wondering 'What is she thinking about me? Is anything out of place? Oh gosh, please tell me I haven't been a klutz and fodder for more gossip' most times when I see 'her'. Actually, most times when I see the others in that clique as well. But Adele will try... so there.

Just please let nothing about me be out of place, like spinach between my teeth or something =_=

Oh, and I've made an observation. Unfortunately, most of the time, the guys I hang out with are probably more friends than anything else. Explains why 3/4 of my life has been as a single half. Sigh... the problem with moi is if it was a guy I was interested in (like 'him'), it'll probably be a 'liking from afar' thing. Even mummy is suspicious of 3/4 of the guys I hang out/have hanged out with. There was this time she thought I had a crush on Gary! Sorry Garykins, you're really nice and all, but you're not really my type although you are 99.9999999% my type when it comes to close friends XD

Anyway, 3 more papers to go! Adele fighting! XD Hehe... but well, at the end of the day and no matter what happens... LIFE GOES ON~!! ^^

Monday, November 05, 2007

Hahaha.... please excuse me, I do feel like breaking out in maniacal laughter. Well, a bit la. Of all times to come down with a viral infection, I had to do so today. The first day of finals, and the paper which is my greatest hope - ESL.

Actually, I agree that it wasn't a pleasant paper, but it wasn't that bad either. Perhaps I'm used to the Australian accent and all, as the main grouse I have about listening comprehension isn't the speakers accent but the decision on which points to put into my anwers. Basically, I felt that there was quite bit of repetition regarding the points (how many times was bla bla bla animal eating native fauna/animals mentioned anyway?)

And guess what........ I forgot to do paragraphing for Section B. Bye bye A20. I guess I'm worried about extended response as well. This year, they actually incorporated graphs into the articles given. Huh?? Usually, graphs are provided independent of corresponding articles, and to make matters worse, this time the graphs took a little figuring out to finally seem logical. And, not being disrespectful to any Muslims, but how in the world do you cite Muslim names again?! In the end, I just gave the guy's full name. Oh well.

At least the topics for listening comprehension were interesting. Hey, I learned a new word, k? Feral is defined by my trusty Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary as farm animals that have escaped and live freely on the land (or something like that). Besides, did you know that there's such a thing as as a species named Bilby?

In case SAM-ians are curious to know what a Bilby - native to Australia, how in the world can we ever forget - looks like after this species has effectively been carved into our little gray cells thanks to listening comprehension, here's one:

Have to admit, it looks shoooo adowable XD

Whee! I've found my prom dress/gown! So far those who have seen it on me are of the opinion that it looks nice, which makes me happy ^^ you have no idea how many small, teeny-weeny dresses and gowns (which were already in the largest size, or only in free size) that I have tried on which wouldn't fit over my bust >_<

But no, I won't elaborate...The gown is still at the shop for touch-ups anyway, so I guess you'll just have to wait until the night itself to see me in it XD

And guess what? The same boutique even had a pair of shoes that go really well with it, and miraculously although there was only one size left and my feet are gigantic, the shoes slipped on just like Cinderella's! =)

Just's Wardrobe in Damansara Uptown (above Hong Kong bank, in the nice new building/converted shop lots) is highly recommended for all your formal wear needs as they've really got gorgeous gowns as well as great service. They'll even alter and make necessary changes to a dress so that you'll look good in it ^^

P/S: Tomorrow's the start of the chaos. Finals, here I come! =p

[Listening : Jewelry Day (it's spelled that way =p ) - Ayaka ]
[Mood : Zzzz ]

I really like this song. It's one of the few Ayaka songs I like, as it's so soothing & comforting. Besides, her rich vocals really does justice to the song.

Anyway, I'm tired. Very. But once again, I feel happy too. I managed to be disciplined enough to work solely on Math today at the library. And guess what? I actually enjoyed it! I guess mum's right when she says that I would actually appreciate the 'magic' of Math if I didn't feel so terrorized about not being good at it.

What to do? Ever since kindergarten, I've been slower than average at working out Math problems. If memory serves me well, half the class would already be working on a new workbook while I would be slogging half-way through the workbook that enviable group had already completed.

It's probably genetic. Both my parents were never good at Math, although dad said he enjoyed applied math. On the other hand, my dad was an ace in Economics, and my mum's good at subjects that do not involve math and science. But I'm not as good as dad at economics. I doubt I would be able to gain admission to study economics at LSE like he did.

N-e-way, English is on Monday. I AM nervous, although so far I'm not allowing the pressure to sink in. Yes, A20 is constantly on my mind, but I'm bracing myself to expect an A18. Actually, I'm kinda looking forward to the English paper... I get to write, finally!

I'm feeling this wealth of creativity and sentences just work themselves out in my mind, and I'm itching to join pen to paper... but I've to hold back since now really isn't the best time to work on a new writing project. Oh well, tough luck. But if my writer's block continues to be banished until the English exam is safely over with, I'll be infinitely grateful, since I've got a letter and extended response to write as part of the exam.

I miss Aaron. Darn. Form 5-ers will be having their SPM soon too. All the best everyone!

Hard work rewards those who are a friend of it. Just a little more 'pain' and then we shall party! ^^

Wednesday, October 31, 2007

I feel good today ^^ Well, I always get a 'high' when I feel that I've been productive and have actually achieved something in fact, I think I have it in me to be a work-a-holic =p

Well, I battled laziness and actually took the (early) morning bus to college today to enforce voluntary detention on myself at the library. Erm... I DID come back early at 2 instead of 4 p.m. but... apart from my worrying lack of interest regarding anything Math related, I managed to cover the whole of Elasticity as well as Microeconomic Reform today (Economics).

Also covered were some accounting SAQs and I did attempt a few Math questions. If I had stayed at home, productivity would have stabilized at a few lines of Economics at the most.

Tomorrow's plan:
  • IT
  • Accounting
  • Math... sigh
I just wish I got to see 'him' like I did yesterday. According to Gary, the poor guy apparently missed his stop yesterday afternoon (I didn't go back by the bus yesterday) and they were already nearing Gary's condo when 'sleeping beauty' awoke. Uncle then had to turn back, with Gary still on board, causing Gary to have to go on an 'extended tour' of PJ XD Understandably, Gary was really annoyed. But... 'he' is so adorable =p So tired was he that he couldn't wake up and missed his stop XD

Tuesday, October 30, 2007

I managed to catch about 20 minutes or so of KBS' Entertainment Weekly yesterday night, and boy am I glad that I did! ^^ Hehe... in that span of time, I got to catch F.T.Island participating in a charity marathon with some other celebs, as well press clips of the temporary re-union of Sechskies (my guilty indulgence it's like admitting you like LFO, Backstreet Boys and Dreamstreet XD ) to commemorate the release of member Jaywalk's solo album.

My favorite part?

Reporter (to F.T.Island before the marathon) : Were all of you good at running in school?
F.T.Island member : ('.....' type of expression) We're still in school

Priceless XD

For the uninitiated, F.T.Island is a pretty new all male Korean band (I've lost count how many have debuted this year) with the members aged 15-17. They play their own instruments though and critics have in general been pretty kind on them since they can actually put together a pretty decent act XD

Erh... they remind me of LEAD (Japanese male band, although of course LEAD are older now), except that F.T.Island's more talented *runs from LEAD fanatics* XD

Gok Miri Mannaboki by F.T.Island XD Adorable song, pretty boys and cute PV ^^

It took me a while to warm up to F.T.Island, and even now I'm still not a fan... but I think I'm slowly going over to the dark side island's side =p

Random Useless Facts:
a) Won Bin and Jong Hun are sooo tall XD
b) It's not true that there are no cute Korean guys in PJ, as there's one in Gary's class who speaks ENGLISH and apparently he's smart as well... except that he's also somewhat short and only 16 =p

Exits: F.T.Island (Wikipedia)

P/S: Adele shall give herself one more treat before brainwashing herself for finals - I'm off to d/l and read the latest scanlated chapter of Rockin' Heaven ^^ Sawa&Ran = <3

Saturday, October 27, 2007

I did mention in the previous post that today was the last day of SAM. Well, I've got a confession... what I'll actually miss the most is having classes to attend and assignments to complete (I know, I'm an assignment-holic XD ), as well as really dedicated teachers such as Mrs Soh (economics).

When I become a mother, and should I ever become a teacher/lecturer, I would like to be one that is in the mould of Mrs Soh. To quote Yin Fong, "I really admire Mrs Soh because her students respect her and she's a good teacher". If she weren't my lecturer, I can't be certain if I would like economics as a subject as much as I do now. Indeed, the supply or Mrs Soh's in the market is perfectly inelastic. She treats each and every one of us as her own child, getting herself concerned about every one of us. Plus, she bakes yummy chocolate chip muffins for us ^^

I'll try my very best to get an A for econs!

And also... Ms Geetha. Haha, surprised? Well, frankly speaking, I guess most if not all except me K2-ians aren't too fond of her. Erm... I've liked most of my English teachers and Ms Geetha is therefore no exception. Yes, she isn't too motherly (probably because she doesn't have any kids) and she may not be the most outgoing teacher on Earth... but I feel that under her, my English has further blossomed.

She's always been very encouraging (I wouldn't have entered the short story competition if it wasn't for her), is discreet (well, I think so lah, apart from the fact that every K2 lecturer shares info about the class among themselves XD ), shows the class interesting stress relief videos ( =p ) , is helpful when I bug seek her advice on how to improve on my English scores, and believes in me enough to think that an A20 in English is achievable by moi. I'll try hard to have that elusive A20 in my grasp! ^^

And there's also Ms Yeap. She's NOT the easiest teacher to get along with, and Math has always been my weakest link, but I know all the tears and sweat she put me through were for my own good. I wish we get along better and that our class could have had a better relationship with her, but at times I really do think she's one great teacher although it would be nice if she had used a different approach tactic when it came to us

But any teacher who can withstand the abuse of reading our so-called anonymous and not-too-flattering comments, while not taking it out on us, deserves a thumbs up in my book XD

A big thank you to Ms Alicia (Accounting) and Ms Sue (IT) as well. I had a phobia of acocunting when I first started SAM but I've slowly started to warm up to accounting although I'm still not good at it >_< partly due to Ms Alicia's careful efforts. Ms Sue has also been a very mother-like figure who believes in me as well... and therefore, it is also one of my wishes to score an A for IT to show my appreciation.

To speak the truth, I was quite miserable the first few days of college, and this year isn't one of the most memorable schooling years I've had... but in retrospect, being thrown into a whole new environment away from my comfort zone was a much needed learning curve.

I learned to grit my teeth and cope, and to look beyond the surface. I've made a few friendships that although may not be as strong as the bond I share with my ex-Samad classmates, might have a lasting chance after all. And although I initially felt that I didn't fit in, I think I've found my niche market XD .

Yin Fong, Tze Yin and Pei Zhe... thanks for making me 'open up' ^^ I'll treasure memories of our long lunches, and how sampat we were laughing over everything and anything. Jana, thanks for lending me your notes, and for being there whenever I had to consult someone regarding college stuff. As for Michael and Ren-Yi, you're both the two guys I'm closest to in K2. Thanks for all the help and memories.

This year, I also became friends with a Math tuition mate I've had since form 2 but never spoke to until this year. As he lives just a few rows away, he became my bus mate in addition to being my IT course and Ed Board mate, . Thanks Eric for everything. You've teman-ed me, you've helped me out and you've been a great friend who's always there to lend a helping hand.

As for all my Ed Board friends, especially those in the features department with me - Shyan, Jie Huei, Shan Min, Ka Mun, Hannah and Melanie - I've had a great time working on Winanga Li with you guys. One of the things that kept me sane this year was the yearbook and the sense of family we had that was present during meetings and yearbook related activities. This friendship has extended beyond the confines of the board, and I hope to keep in touch with you guys.

Thanks to my K2 classmates as well, who've shared the ups-and-downs of being a student in K2.

All the best in the finals and in the future to each and everyone of you who have graced my life with your presence this year, no matter how significant or otherwise. Take care! ^^ Hope to see at least some of you during the exam period as well as during prom.

Friday, October 26, 2007

I'm temperamental. Uh-huh. I can manage to feel both emo and warm at the same time.

The emo-ness can be blamed on the fact that today was the last day of SAM. Not to mention that finals is in 2 weeks. And that I probably will never get the chance now to know the guy I've been crushing on from afar for months.

On the other hand, I'm happy because my friends and I had one last final class lunch together (I like Ms Yeap's taste in food, her recommendation was spot on XD), and it was fun hanging out in Taipan with the girls I cherish the most in K2, looking for the prom dress. And thank you Tze Yin, for rushing to get me back to college on time to catch the bus ^^

And... I'm glad I got to see him on the bus home. Now that was totally unexpected and if he was the one who got a shock yesterday (according to Gary), then I'm the one who got 'shocked' today =p he looks real cute asleep, which he's always doing on the bus XD

Lol... If he ever stumbles across this blog which is highly unlikely, it's darn obvious who I'm referring to - but life's too short to 'act cool'. At least for just this once.

Thursday, October 25, 2007

Raise your hands, fellow hallyu fans who agree with me that Lee Jun Ki is one of the sexiest Koreans on the face of the Earth XD

This guy sings (quite decently XD ), acts (love his acting ^^ ) and manages to look prettier than the gals. His character in 'My Girl' was so sweet as well. If I were Joo Rin (female lead character in My Girl), I'll jump at the chance to go out with Jun Ki's character XD

Not convinced? =p Well, pictures speak louder than words. So here goes:

Hehe... there's cute Jun Ki, cool Jun Ki, killer-stare Jun Ki, dreamy Jun Ki, don't-I-look-adorable Jun Ki and 'love' Jun Ki =p

Anyway, I guess this qualifies as my long overdue pic spam post as well? ^^

Minna-san, tadaima! ~ ^^

Just a short post, since I'm reaaally tired (although it seems that all I did on my one day away form college was catch up on sleep) and am supposed to be getting ready to go out for dinner.

Only 2 more days of college left ne. Feel a little sad that my one day self-declared break had to be this week and not next.

Anyway, I took pics... but since posting pics will kinda give away where I went... I'll consider and rethink the consequences XD (gosh... I sound like I went to assassinate someone, don't I?! =p )

[Listening : Savannah Woman - Wheesung (Groovy! ^^ ) ]
[Mood: Stressed ]

Whee! I seem to have some after finals plans. Tentatively, I'll be catching up with Bee (yes girl, it's been ages since we last spoke to each other let alone meet) and with the Samad gang XD

Anyway, I know my blog is kinda perpetually devoid of piccus (I'm trying my hand at annoyingly kawaii spelling XD ) - especially of the personal variant - so here are some.

At Auli's Raya open house. Bernie, Wye Luun, Ayub Hadi (only part of him though =p ), Nurin, moi, and Gary. Pic's very somewhat dark, but you can still make us out... I hope XD

Click Click (a.k.a. sorry, but I just love posing in my kebaya)

Evermore - Light Surrounding You

I see you by the water
Your toes dipped in the sand
I thought that it was over
I thought you'd understand
But the feeling is returning
the time has made us change
And I understand if you don't
Wanna talk to me about it tonight
Tonight

'Cause I see the light surrounding you
So don't be afraid of something new

Time was overtaking me
And I guess I was confused
They were all inviting me
But I wish I had refused
'Cause I've been there before
And I've seen it all
And I believe in you

And if you never had my heart
I would've never called you back
At the start that night
So I want you to know

That I see the light surrounding you
So don't be afraid of something new
'Cause I see the light surrounding you
So don't be afraid of what you're turning into

Blue-eyed sun shining on me
In the morning
Can't help but feel a little cold
Thinking of you

'Cause I see the light surrounding you
So don't be afraid of something new
'Cause I see the light surrounding you
So don't be afraid of what you're turning into
No, don't be afraid
Don't be afraid
Cos I see the light
Cos I see the light
Cos I see the light surrounding you

Evermore is probably one of the handful of based-in-Australia bands I'm able to name off-hand =p Blame it on the fact that Light Surrounding You was such an uber hit when I was in Melbourne that I kept hearing it until I caught the Evermore bug as well ^^

Saturday, October 20, 2007

Lol... I have a feeling that at least 8 people in K2 will be sitting at one of the tables nearest the tail-end of the ballroom during prom as... *gasp* we've yet to book our table XD

Actually, it's not a very nice thought since well, it'll be fun to be in front and in the middle of all the happening things ne. But oh well... I guess we'll see. If all else fails, there's still Wye Luun (haha... just kidding. Even if I do go find you, it's just to kacau you say hi =p )

I feel almost tempted to go through my previous posts and reflect on what I've written, just because I've discovered that Wye Luun read/reads (which one is it? past or present?) this blog.

Auli's Raya open house today was great! It's been awhile since I last saw Auli, and much longer since I saw both Nurin and Ayub Hadi. Two people were conspicuously missing though - Jen because of AS finals and Kevin because he's all the way in Russia and they make such a cute 'couple'. Really makes me miss 5A and English Society days XD I sound like I haven't seen them in years, kan? =)

Maula invited his form 4 friends, and Auli's dad's Samad classmates were there too... so there were 3 different Samad classes at the gathering. The Class of 80-something (sorry, I forgot >_< ), the class of 06 (that's us ^^ ) and the class of 08 (Maula's gang XD ) . Haha... during the photo shoot, Ayub went "Hidup Samad!"... it's amazing and very heartening how many past and present Samadians have fond memories of their days at Samad (even though people still ask "Bukankah itu sekolah gangster?" =p ) And... Auli has a chocolate fountain! Isn't that so cool? As usual, we crazy kids managed to derive more than a few laughs from antics involving the chocolate fountain XD And there was this really nice but sweet =_= terung belanda drink which tastes like a mixture between passion fruit and peach. I'm the only one among Bernie, Gary and Wye Luun who likes it.

We've got to hang out again soon, k? After Wye Luun and I are done with icky finals. I'll go nuts during the loooooong holiday without some company XD

*hits head* Today (or rather yesterday since it's passed the 15th in Malaysia, but I guess it's still the 15th in certain parts of the world) was Blog Action Day. I actually signed up, but since I never got a confirmation e-mail, I assumed my participation form went to the magical online shredder... but turns out Ichigo Ramen is actually listed as one of the gazillion (okay, I exaggerate) blogs that unitd for a common cause - highlight issues regarding the environment by blogging about the environment in whatsoever way on October 15th.

Gomen ne, my fellow Blog Action Day bloggers... therefore, I will blog now, in the very next post.

Bloggers Unite - Blog Action Day

The Environment. How much attention do we actually devote to something that is such an integral part of our life? Are we even aware (or do we just prefer to be ignorant) of how much damage our daily actions cause the environment in which all living beings depend on to ensure the continued sustainment of life?

The things we take for granted such as a comfortably air-conditioned room, the refrigerator that keeps perishables fresh for a longer period of time, and even just getting into a car and driving to the nearest kopitiam for breakfast... all these have become so imprinted in our daily life that we hardly take heed of the fact that our actions constantly contribute to the deterioration of the environment.

Well, one might say, all these 'new-fangled' notions about protecting the environment may be well and good in Western countries in which they originated... but most of the steps formulated in order to minimize damage to the environment isn't really applicable to Malaysians.

Well, here are a few simple lifestyle changes the average Malaysian (and yes, even a Malaysian teen) is able to make in order to 'go green' and do their part in slowing down the process of pollution, global warming and other ailments in which the environment - as an unwilling patient - has to bear.

  • If you're just purchasing a packet of crisp, a canned drink or other small and easily portable items such as magazines and newspapers... decline using a plastic bag to store your purchase in. You're probably going to be taking it out of the bag soon anyway.
  • Re-use clean plastic and paper bags. Used plastic bags could double as garbage bags (that way, you save on buying new plastic bags) and paper bags are great for crafts as well as for putting gifts in.
  • High quality drink cartons, once cleaned and dried, can be cut up to make attractive and practical bookmarks. Cartons which have an inner foil coating are also to an extent waterproof. Pretty product boxes may also be used. Just punch a hole, string a ribbon through and voila... you have yourself a homemade bookmark! ^^ (Adele: This comes from personal experience and isn't just lifted lock, stock and barrel from a craft book)
  • Try to walk or cycle to close destinations. Petrol fumes pollute the environment. It's also a good way to save on ever-rising petrol prices, and you get a workout to boot.
  • Be a responsible shopper. Do not purchase products manufactured by producers known for severely damaging the environment, even if such products are priced lower. No amount of money will reverse the negative impact on the the environment.
  • Trees need to be cut down in order to manufacture paper. If a sheet of paper is barely filled and can still be used, it could double up as rough/scribbling paper for math workings and such.
  • Do not litter, even if what you're discarding is biodegradable. Litter is unsightly and has the potential to cause harm to the environment in various means.
  • Stop consuming, buying or in anyway supporting the trade of endangered animals. Once they are extinct, there won't be any way to bring them back. As each species is inter-reliant on each other in the food chain, the annihilation of any one species causes an imbalance in the 'circle of life'.
  • Malaysians -and especially the Chinese community - seem to have a love affair with sharks fin. Fact is: over finning is causing the extinction of certain species of sharks, and is plainly an act of inhumane cruelty towards animals. Stop the consuming and buying, and the killing will stop as well.
Ahem... and you may ask... What is this blogger actually doing for the environment? Well, actually, I have to admit... as much as I would like to use 'green bags' (re-usable cloth grocery bags) in place of plastic bags, at present it isn't too practical when it'll take at least 10 such bags to fill the amount of groceries purchased by my family from the hypermarket.

However, I have been maintaining a 4 year pledge to stop eating sharks fin. This can get a little tricky sometimes when guests and hosts alike think you're not showing them 'face' by refusing to eat this highly priced delicacy. And it does make you the butt of family jokes ("Oh, she's a greenie who's going to join Greenpeace one day. She pities the sharks so she doesn't eat sharks fin" *cue laughter* ) But vegetarian sharks fin is a yummy alternative for ex-sharks fin lovers who still get cravings =p

I learned a very important lesson when I was young as well. I confess, I loved glorious blank sheets of paper as a kid and I still do even to this day. I used to be quite the paper waster as I had plenty of time to kill at my mum's office, with arts&craft and writing stuff my hobby at that time (this was before I went to Yuk Chai and had culture shock at the amount of homework I had to complete XD ) One day, my mum's friend saw this blatant act of waste and commented "Do you know how many trees need to be cut down to make paper?" This promptly started a talk/lecture on how many trees were being cut down and the importance of trees in providing oxygen and cooling the atmosphere. It was my very first exposure to this topic and proceeded to make me feel extremely guilty. Even back in the 90s, global warming was creeping into our lives.

Therefore, while we can still minimize the damage our environment has been inflicted with and prevent life upon Earth from becoming increasingly uncomfortable and fraught with natural disasters, let us make a choice and do something beneficial for the overall health-o-meter of the environment =)
Lol... I'm aiming for at least TER85, but this Hari Raya Aidilfitri hols I only seem to be glued to a few things: Internet, books (of no relevance to help me score in SAM, except maybe in broadening my English vocabulary and adding flair to my letter writing style), combination of KBS World+Astro on Demand+Animax, and daydreaming (a very unfortunate hobby of mine).

It took me three drunk-on-leisure days to remember: I have Accounting, Math and IT past year paper to do (I'm flailing in Accounting, drowning in Math, and apparently IT internal marks ALWAYS get moderated DOWN), Econs to study for (MUST get that A) and SAM English as a Second Language to brush up on (Ms Geetha's target for me for finals: A20, and ESL is probably my best shot at getting a high A)

... but guess what? Bernie and I spent half the day at Curve and Cineleisure today, watching Brave Story (nice!! ^^ and Eiji Wentz sings and does the voice acting for one of the characters) and looking for a potential prom dress since I had already made plans with her the week before. And I'm blogging now... which leaves the aforementioned pile of homework u-n-c-o-m-p-l-e-t-e-d.

So auf wiedersehens, as I attempt to tackle Accounting in the dying hours of Monday.

P/S: Thai music is really quite nice =)

Sunday, October 14, 2007

Hmm... does anyone still buy original CDs? I do as for me, nothing beats the satisfaction of holding a CD in its original packaging as well as the guilt free feeling that you're supporting an artiste's hard work. And I would purchase more if the CDs worth spending cold hard cash to get were more accessible in good ol' Malaysia. Jack Penate, anyone? And let's not even get started on Japanese and Korean CDs. I haven't seen any recent Arashi releases or stuff by Koyote on store shelves. And with the exception of Jack Penate, these are the mainstream acts.

And... ELLEGARDEN! This group is partially responsible for the torture I'm putting my hard drive through XD C'mon, they've had a North American (USA) release for their latest album Eleven Fire Crackers, they mostly sing in English, they play to sold out crowds in North America, they're able to rock it out with all those other American punk-rock groups and heck, they even sound like an American group.

So... why in the world is it so hard to find stuff by ELLEGARDEN here??

PV for Red Hot from Riot on the Grill (love the album title XD )

[Listening: Planetarium - Otsuka Ai ^^ ]

Yesterday was a very. very special day. Many years hence, I feel certain I would still be able to vividly recall the tempest of emotions within me as I watched the Russian Soyuz rocket with Malaysia's first astronaut on board blast off into space. I was so madly joyous that I actually clapped and felt a strong urge to stand up and cheer on the heroes -both in the spotlight and behind the scenes XD

Truly, I felt a cocktail of emotions with the three most prominent sentiments being excitement, anxiety and pride. Even tough it wasn't I who was visiting the ISS, the sense of anticipation was just as strong, as Dr Sheik Muszaphar successfully joined the ranks of one of the world's most elite professions.

And... the blast off was so moving and beautiful! The rocket resembled a brightly illuminating star - shining with the hopes and dreams of hundreds of millions of Malaysians - as it broke through the Earth's orbit.

Watch: http://videos.thestar.com.my/default.aspx?vid=504

Undeniably, Dr Sheikh Muszaphar (lol... everyone says he looks like a movie star XD ) is also one of the lucky handful who get to realize long cherished childhood dreams of having a first class view of Earth while on a space mission.

Hehe... I felt somewhat envious as well, as waaay back when I was quite little, I harboured dreams of being an authority on astronomy and going on missions into space. Of course, that was before I discovered that I'm actually more into the aesthetics of space rather than the cog works =p Furthermore, in the 90s, not many believed that the emergence of a Malaysian astronaut in the near future wasn't merely a pipe dream.

Well, we've done it! ^^ Regardless of what the critics say, the fact still remains that Dr Sheikh Muszaphar is going to be the very first Malaysian to step foot on board the ISS. And no, he won't be spinning gasings but conducting scientific experiments. Go Malaysia!

Now playing: amplified - MR.RAINDROP
via FoxyTunes

MR. RAINDROP by amplified is a recent discovery of mine... and I'm totally loving it ^^ Amplified is an alt-rock band formed by three 17 year-old (then) international school students in Hong Kong and discovered through Sony Music Japan's International Audition.

MR.RAINDROP was used as the 2nd ending theme (ED) to the anime Gintama. The lyrical and musical style of this song reminds me of Travis too. This is perhaps explained by the fact that amplified draws its influences from Western alt-rock bands, and that all three members have lived abroad.

The SAM yearbook, Winanga-Li, is out ne. It's alright, I guess. I think the cover and page design for this edition of the yearbook was very well done by the design team... and, hehe... the features that we did turned out quite alright as well (slashing down on the word count for various articles was a nightmare =p )

But... there's something bothering me. The features department photo, to be precise. Being slightly obsessive-compulsive and gravitating towards perfectionism... I did not look good in the photo. In fact, I think it's very obvious I looked pregnant. Urgh.

I really like the other editorial board related photos though, and K2's class profile still amuses me ^^ It's something only Tat Ren would be able to produce XD

Soundtrack of My Life

Hehe... another one of those 'music player shuffle' memes that I'm addicted to =p

Funeral Song
“Nichijou Evolution” - ONE OK ROCK
'You're better anyway now'? I'm better dead o_O ??

End Credits
“If You Were I'd Be Okay” - David Choi
It's a fitting ending song, I guess. There's all the sad stuff like feeling lonely, missing someone, etc

Ah... I messed up again. I probably didn't seem very interested, I bet. Giving out all the wrong signs. Aaaargh!

But... it's absurd, isn't it, how someone can make you feel both so happy as well as crushed and anxious? I saw him today. Once again, when I least expected it. Well, Adele was a very glum girl today as both on Friday as well as this morning, I didn't get to see him.

Fortunately (or perhaps he planned it to be so, but I'm not jumping to conclusions and risk being labeled as perasan) ... I caught a glimpse of him as I was walking to wait for my mode of transport home.

He was there with his friend (I think they go back together) but at that time, silly me thought "Oh, so I'll get to see more of him later" and (curse my heels) I had to navigate my way through the parked cars as well the gratings covering the many drains in SS15 and I was shy as well, so I didn't really pay him much attention.

But.......... well, things don't always turn out the way you think it would ne.......... and I did NOT get to see more of him later.

Sigh.... that's always the problem with me. I hesitate 90% of the time when it comes to the guys I like. And even if I suspect the guy might feel the same way about me, I always have an argument ready to convince myself that he doesn't, and that I'm making a big fool out of myself.

Oh well........ pleeease kwr gun vw ib rgw vya rinieeiq niebubf?

[Listening : Bye Bye - SS501 ]

I just don't get it. What exactly is going through his mind? Grr... One day it's like being in an extra sweet dream, and the other would be akin to living within a nightmare.

I once thought I knew where I stood in relation to him, but more than once I've had to change my opinion on the matter - both positively and negatively.

Honestly, he's harder to figure out than Sudoku or a Rubik's Cube.

Thursday, October 04, 2007

Adele is in a dilemma. Well, a few dilemmas actually, but the one I'm going to 'disclose' is rather... trite XD

It's really just that I can't for the life of me decide if I should risk shattering all the ideals I've built around my beloved The Dark is Rising sequence (written by Susan Cooper, her books are awesome stuff ^^ ).

As a rule, I tend to ban myself from viewing most book adaptations as most times, I feel sorely disappointed after the show and can't quite ever view the book - that the adaptation was based on - in the same light.

But well, you see, the special effects in The Seeker: The Dark is Rising (gee, there is no book in the sequence titled The Seeker =p ) looks awesome, and the props and landscapes (I love Gothic and medieval architecture) in England look great! =)

However, evil Hollywood figures being profit-driven and all, decided that being faithful to the book - which, by the way, isn't set in the age of laptops and cell phones - would just shock the pants off Generation Y kids who *gasp* can't ever imagine life without all those cool technological gadgets.

Therefore, we instead get the movie version Will (who is the Seeker by the way) as a 21st century rather ignorant brat with a dysfunctional family (hey, the Stantons in the book were such a nice, warm bunch).

Erm... if I ever do get around to fulfill my dream of one day directing/producing a The Dark is Rising movie... do remind me to be faithful to the original, even if it involves giving me a good bashing XD

And....... Mr Director and the casting crew..... the last time I checked, Susan Cooper described Merriman as tall, thin, and with grayish hair.

So why is the movie Merriman dark haired and rotund?? Oh well. I personally believe that all actors should be given equal opportunities, so if the guy's really good as Merriman, not having him fit the book's description isn't so bad I guess.

But... he had better be terrific in the role................... =_= And... not having the majestic hawk-nosed, gray-haired, formidable Merriman is somewhat of a letdown.

So, haha... the question remains... to watch or not to watch?

P/S: The Golden Compass is coming out later this year... to watch or not to watch? XD

Tuesday, October 02, 2007

Hmm... was it a grimace? A small smile? A twitch of the mouth? Or was it just a reflex action? Oh well... I guess I'm the only one who knows what I'm talking about XD

Anyway, if you've got some time to spare, and you're into classical music and art, why not give Beethoven's Hair a try? =)

It's really quite a simple point-and-click interactive game with surrealistically beautiful graphics, haunting music composed by Beethoven, as well as a concise information on the maestro's life history.

The one gripe I have about Beethoven's Hair is how frustrating it was initially to make sense of the game's controls. In the game, your cursor is a butterfly, in which you use the up and down arrow keys to move, well, up and down... as well as your mouse to move around the screen.

It took a bit of practice controlling the butterfly, as well as a lucky fluke, to complete the game's first task. Nevertheless, the small tasks you'll have to perform are simple enough.

A bit of advice - do make full use of the down arrow key, as well as the in-game instructions. That should put you in good stead to complete Beethoven's Hair ^^

Oh, and the game might potentially leave you feeling thoughtful and just perhaps a little melancholy, so be warned. But at the same time, it does fill you with a glimmer of hope as well. For that reason alone, Beethoven's hair is definitely worth a try =)

Why does my heart have to skip a beat when he's around? Why does his little actions have to come across as adorable to me? (Lol... I use 'my' and 'me' as I'm the only one among Jen and Gary who thinks he's cute XD )

.... And I'm supposed to be pushing all thoughts of him into the farthest and littlest corner of my mind, as well as continuing the attempts to ignore his existence. I would be getting a grade 'C' or 'D' for my efforts.

But then again, when I manage not to be distracted by him when our classes are placed in the same exam venue, the paper tends to turn out quite alright =p So... can I be in the same venue as him for finals? XD

Anyway, grandmother's 80th birthday dinner at Nanking Court (vegetarian restaurant at SS2) was................. odd. Some guests from Malacca brought along more family members/friends then expected (hint: invited) so we family members had to sacrifice by making do with whatever tables the restaurant had (which in this case was away from the banquet area) as well as not being able to have the same scrumptious dinner the 'official' tables had.

This was because the menu for grandma's dinner was created specially by the head chef/owner using specially imported ingredients ahead of the banquet, so they couldn't really whip up two more of the same sets for the extra tables.

I was kinda looking forward to all the different types of mushrooms [my favourite!! =) ] incorporated into the birthday dinner menu, as well as the vegetarian 'monk jump over the wall', but oh well.... even my uncle who was paying for the dinner joined my table XD And the set dinner we ordered from the restaurant's standard menu was quite delicious ^^

At the end of the day, what was most important was that my grandmother had a ball of a time, and her guests were happy with the dinner, right? =)

I got to meet up with the babysitter who took care of me when I was young at the dinner as well! ^^ She moved to Malacca some time ago, and is in the same prayer group as my grandmother. Hehe... Grandmother's Malaccan friends actually chartered a bus to carry them from Malacca to PJ for the dinner =)

Oh... and thank goodness everyone enjoyed the cake =p Hey, it took quite a bit of effort to get all three tiers of the cake safely to the restaurant on time XD First, R.T. Pastry at SS15 didn't have a box big enough for the third tier of the cake (which was a 3kg Chantilly cake) ... so we had to borrow a yellow plastic box tray from them. And... believe it or not... they did not have the cake stand ready for us as well.

In all, we waited at least 1 hour (!!) for them to prepare the cakes as well as find, clean and decorate the cake stand.

On to F1! Today's Japanese Grand Prix at the Fuji International Speedway was a near farce =p For the first time in F history, the first 18 laps or so of the race was actually benind the safety car. Reason for this? It had been raining for 36 hours at the track, and the rain clouds continued to have the time of their lives by emptying their contents on the track. it was madness! Visibility was horrible for the drivers.... and Alonso crashed!! ^^

Although this effectively means Lewis Hamilton's lead in the Driver's Championship has been further cemented with only 2 races to go.... we wouldn't want he fat-headed prat Alonso to win the World Championship two years in a row, would we? Mind you, this is out of concern for Alonso (yeah right XD )... as goodness knows if his head will fit into his helmet next season if he sweeps the World Championship once again =p Gary, you're with me on this, right? And Auli would be happy too since Hamilton still has his lead.

I'm sure the Finnish are happy as well. Congratulations to Finland on the 2-3 finish. Although I do wish 2nd place had gone to Kimi in the Ferrari instead of Heikki Kovaleinen in the Renault... I'm glad it's Heikki and not Alonso who took second. Pity on Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel though. They could have placed 2nd and 3rd respectively had they not taken each other out. Poor Sebastian Vettel looked like he was crying = s It would have been marvelous for him had he been on the podium, being only 20 and a rookie to boot. But I'm sure a podium finish for him is just a matter of time ^^ So take heart, Vettel.

P/S: I may be flying to Melbourne again after finals in November, but the trip's not confirmed yet. Not sure if I want to go though. It'll be for 3 weeks and I may have to miss out on collecting my results personally.

[Watching: Attention Please! ^^ ]

Minna-san, I think I've found one of my favourite doramas this year. I tried searching for Yamada Taro Monogatari, but since no streaming site had the complete series uploaded, I ended up watching Attention Please! ... and... so far it seems like a great series!

Hehe... Aya Ueto is so kawaii in it, and Ryo-tan is in it too! Nah, I didn't choose to watch the series because Ryo was in it (like how I always choose doramas with JE idols in them XD ), but because the plot sounded interesting and the theme song's by Kaela Kimura =p

The show's about Misaki Youko, a tomboyish and unconventional Cabin Attendant (Flight Stewardess) trainee. Ryo plays an aircraft mechanic/engineer (is that what you call them?) who (so far) seems like he would rather be a pilot.

Anyway, still watching now. More on this sugoku series later.

Ja ne!

Only Econs to go! But that's actually the paper I'm most tensed up about

Tomorrow, after 10.40, I get to:

  • Prepare for Grandma's 80th birthday dinner
  • Watch Jdoramas! (Yamada Taro Monogatari [high on my list ^^ ], Hotaru no Hikari, and perhaps HanaKimi =p ... but I'm so outdated, watching Summer doramas when it's almost the start of the Autumn dorama season XD )
  • Rewatch Never Ending Wonderful Story
But for now... Economics beckons.

Wednesday, September 26, 2007

I heard this song the other day, about how it's good sometimes when God doesn't answer your prayers, as he has something better in store for you... and although I'm a Theravada Buddhist and technically speaking, there is(are) no god(s) in Theravada Buddhism... I'm starting to appreciate that message.

... Because ...

... my package from Hong Kong arrived yesterday! Yup yup, when I got home from accounting exam... I caught sight of it, in a padded, grey water-proof envelope on my shoe cabinet. Immediately suspecting it was my long-awaited package, I peered closer... and there it was, printed neatly on the label... Adelina Tan Eee Lin XD

It was worth not having my Never Ending Wonderful Story arrive earlier, just to be able to get it after falling sick on Monday and after Accounting exam (tough paper, but I tried my near-best considering I was ill on Monday night and wasn't feeling well while attempting the paper, but there goes my B16 and possible A17)

Well, I'll post pics, but later k? When trials are all over, and maybe not here, but on Vox ^^

Anyway, I've seen it - the glorious 2 DVD NEWS bonanza going by the moniker Never Ending Wonderful Story!! And.... *ta-da* I looooooove it to death life (because I love life! *gets stoned* =p )

Reviews perhaps coming up as well. Depends on whether Adele can stop laughing over the funny bits in the DVD and how lazy I am.

Quick comments:

  • As usual, they had some pretty fuggly outfits but Yamapi looks good in darn much everything, and in nothing as well *thinking of the onsen scene* XD Notable exceptions are the ones they wore for Hoshi wo Mezashite, Snow Express, Love Addiction (Kei-chan solo... I'm bias XD and I like guys who look good in casual suits) and Miso Soup (Tegoshi and Massu duet)
  • I want Tegoshi's stylist!! XD
Earliest version of NEWS, with all 9 initial members (and also Adele's fav line-up) Tegoshi is third from the left, top row.

Tegoshi now ^^ Love the hair. He looked good throughout the DVD as well.

  • The solos! Massu's was pure crack the funniest, with Pumpkin. Yamapi (Gomen ne, Juliet) and Kei-chan's were hot, Shige's was sexy with the sofa and all (but outfit was a little mismatched XD ), Teshi's (Stars) was sweet and I didn't really like Ryo's (Code) =p
  • The modified version of Dreams (towards the end of disc 2) was really touching, with the lyrics changed to incorporate NEWS into it. The members and fans at the concert were crying, and Adele wanted to cry as well. It's good to have NEWS back after their hiatus ^^

  • Kei-chan and Shige look good in glasses ^^
  • I've never really noticed it, but Kei's front tooth (bottom row) is crooked. Cute! ^^
  • Kei-chan and Shige can go really nuts in their hotel room (documentary in Kagoshima XD )
  • One day, if I continue being a Japanese pop culture fan, I might start spouting Engrish (love, in Engrish - rabu; happy birthday, in Engrish - ha pi buff dae [or something along those lines XD ] and 'chu' and 'kissu [kiss]' and 'starto [start]', and 'charm-pi-on [champion]' and 'be heat revolution [lol, I always thought it was bi-ig revolution =p ]' and many, many more XD )
I am so envious of the Taiwanese who get to see NEWS live in Taipei in October.

[Listening: Saimon San no Rakuen on 98.8 ^^ ]

I'm stuffed XD If you're ever craving for Chinese food/dim sum, or happen to be around the Jaya33 area, do give Oriental Pavilion a try ^^

Oh, and another revelation today. I've discovered that to some extent, I've finally found my KAT-TUN footing. Haha... well, I've been in denial for awhile that I'm actually growing fond of this JE group, but ever since their debut (and I bet not getting an overdose of them on SC helped lots XD ) I've found a lot to like about some of KAT-TUN's songs.

And to think I used to groan every time I heard KAT-TUN's name XD

Oh, and somehow, I've associated my new Guess bag with KAT-TUN =p I guess it's because my bag's kinda bling-bling, and when I think of bling-bling I'll think of KAT-TUN (since they try so hard to be the bad-ass group of JE XD ) and to a further extent, I'll think of KAT-TUN's Real Face.

Actually, I only made the connection today, when I heard Real Face playing on Saimon San no Rakuen and my eyes caught sight of my bag XD

When trials are over, perhaps I'll do a pic-spam post that'll kill any dial-up connection ^^

P/S:
DATE: November 24, 2007
VENUE: STADIUM MERDEKA

That's the tentative date for DBSK's Malaysian concert!! It's after finals!! Anyone wants to go with me? XD Haha... perhaps I should just skip prom and save the money to get the best ticket instead =p Nah, just kidding =p

But does anyone want to go with me? ^^ I'll have to go and ask Gary when he's leaving. Hope it's after the 24th and hope that if he goes, and SuJu's there, he'll get water splashed on him again by SuJu XD

P/P/S: Do check out the PV for Wheesung's first single 'Love is Delicious' off his new album. It'll make you feel happy ^^

[Now playing: Dong Bang Shin Ki - 'O' - Jung.Ban.Hap
via FoxyTunes ]
[Mood: I want to go see DBSK!! ^^ ]

It's funny isn't it? How you thought you disliked a song, but upon listening to it again (well, albeit a better quality version)... it hits you - 'Wow, I like this!'.

I mentioned in an earlier post that I didn't know if I would be going to DBSK's concert when they come to KL later in the year since I didn't even like the title track of the concert's theme/series, but I take that back now.

Fact is, I think I must have heard a very LQ version of O-Jung.Ban.Hap. because now that I've heard a clear, crisp version of the song, I looooove it's uber catchyness! XD

It's an old PV, released a year ago, but since I thought I didn't like the song until a few minutes ago... I just checked the PV out. This one's fan-subbed with English subtitles, and... the lyrics are quite deep and meaningful.

The part at the start where Micky goes "Yo U-Know (Yunho), let's try some noisy beat(sic)" totally cracks me up XD

And... is it just me but does anyone else think that they look better when they first started out? Haha... maybe it's just because I like them looking boyish and innocent, especially Max and Hero. Erm... Hero with blond hair's a little weird in my opinion, and I prefer the old Max where he did not sport avant-garde hair in PVs.

Dance-wise, the guys do a great energy-packed dance in the PV, but it does come off as somewhat weird. Well, perhaps not really weird, but definitely dramatic and avant-garde. Hmm... perhaps avant-garde is one of the themes of the PV =p

Anyway, I can't wait to catch the 5 guys in KL again! =p

So, Gary!!!! I hope you won't be leaving for you-know-where (hehe... I think I better not write it down in case it's a secret =p ) until DBSK's concert is over, so that you can go with me ^^ or that someone will go with me. And *hoping* that finals will be over by then. Ohh... and hope SuJu (or at least some of the sub-groups) are the guest performers again.

DBSK + SuJu would be a total blast! =) but does anyone else think that Girl's Generation or Cheon Sang Ji Hee The Grace have a higher chance of being brought along? )=
Suggestion of a way to spend the day after a draining Math exam: Shop for 7 hours and 28 mins.

Well, as all SAM-ians know... yesterday which is also known as Friday to you and me XD was the start of trials, and the first paper to kick start the whole "*groan* oh gosh.... Nooo!!!" affair was Math. As SSABSA seems to think students do better in Math EARLY in the morning which is actually true in my case =p and since we're following South Australian exam times... the paper ended at 10.10 am.

And... I took the taxi home for the first time yesterday! Lol, I bet some people *likeaaronyipjunhoeandgaryang* XD are going to think I'm spoilt... but it's just that it was the first time I took a taxi without first calling for one, or without a guy with me as 'bodyguard'. So it was a little scary, as this was just like getting into any random taxi and hoping for the best.

Anyway, upon getting home and having a quick breakfast, we (as in mum, aunt, me and bro) drove down to KLCC for Isetan pre-sale.

It was pandemonium. And to an extent, FUN pandemonium. But... word of advice, never go for a pre-sale with a tired almost-two-year-old =p

The sale was very good, and we mostly spent time on the bags and shoes floor. And I got the Guess bag I was admiring at Parkson some time ago ^^

It's this very chic shopping bag-ish sized bag, with a layer of transparent pvc-ish material on the outside, with the main storage area made of this nice denim-ish material. And there's this cute lock thing at the front as well.

Originally, it was around RM 300+ but after discount, we got it at around RM 185. Mum bought 2 other bags from Guess as well, in preparation for the trip to attend my cousin's wedding in Melbourne next year.

Bags-wise, mum and aunt bought a few more bags from Renoma and Roberta di Camerino.

And shoes! I got this gorgeous pair of Balenciaga gold and black heels which may possibly be my prom shoes. Also, a pretty blue pair of heels to go with jeans and a white pair to wear to college.

It WAS tiring though. My ankles and knees felt so achingly sore afterwards. But another highlight was seeing KL in the evening. It just gives off this very surreal and elegant feel, especially seeing the KL Tower and Petronas Twin Towers alighted, and the streets of KL strung with twinkling lights.

[Mood: Caught up in exam fever ]

Yessss... trials are just around the corner... and for ALL subjects, my trial marks are gonna be extremely crucial. Let's do a subject-by-subject analysis.

Accounting Studies: I need to get 6/10% in order to reach B16 for internal. I know... it's not an A17, but considering that I was initially looking at Cs and was expecting high C/low B... to cut a long story short... I've got to get that 6% XD

Economics: Erm... actually, now that the total score is around 100 marks, I'm not sure what percentage I'll need to get A17. But let's just say it should also be higher than 6/10%... and as it's my 2nd best subject... I better get 7% or more

Math, IT and English: These 3 subjects are the grey area ones. In other words, I'm not quite sure where I stand.

Suffice to say, I MUST get as high an A as possible for English. Or else....... >_< Actually, it'll be pretty pathetically amusing to observe me if and when I don't get that A for English after all

For Math, it's 'try to grab as many points as possible'. I guess we're currently looking at D9 or 10 for internal? Yes, it's obvious I can't do Math for nuts =_=

Ms Sue says that I MUST score A-ish marks in IT trials. Hopefully that'll give me a high B and possibly, just possibly, a low A for internal. Actually, I don't really know where I stand in terms of internal assessment for IT. Where are my projects' marks, Ms Sue??

Just for the sake of making me feel better, here's what I want to do after trials. and before starting the whole punishing study regime for finals

  • Watch Never Ending Wonderful Story (assuming it's arrived by then, as it better be should =p )
  • Catch up on NEWS... erm... news XD
  • Watch anime and read shoujo manga ^^
  • Step 1, 2 , 3... I bet there's a dance I'll want to learn up after watching Never Ending Wonderful Story
  • Rewatch Never Ending Wonderful Story? it IS a 2 DVD-disk long concert+documentary which will take a whole lot of time to watch, let alone rewatch XD
It's been 5 days since my Never Ending Wonderful Story was shipped out of Hong Kong.

Hahaha... once in awhile, it's therapeutic to be a silly delusional fangirl XD
Hehe... when browsing my 'Who's viewed You' list today on friendster... I saw a pic of this guy who's name was familiar and who looked familiar too.

My curiosity piqued, I went to his profile, all the while thinking "this guy looks and sounds(name) very familiar... I'm sure I've known him before".

Suddenly, it dawned on me. I went all "It's the guy I had quite a big crush on in form 4!!"

Adele's such an o baka XD It's just that I haven't really thought about him in awhile, and he looks somewhat different now better looking and more Japanese-y definitely XD

And I actually don't know him apart from having been in the same school and Chinese class before XD You see, I've got this thing with guys I don't know that well but just come across often.

Most of the guys I've had crushes on, and even both my ex-bfs before I got to know them better, are guys I rarely speak to. I can't quite define this tendency of mine too, but I guess I'm attracted to the mystery of it all?

So anyway, this guy was in the same after school Chinese class (my BC teacher gabung-ed the classes she taught for the 'ke wai/outside class timetable' BC lessons) and I thought he was kinda cute in the kinda dorky way XD

I guess it's kinda nice when you 'meet again' people you used to (kind of) know and it brings back some pretty fond memories =p

Big Bang's 'Lie' is soooooooo super-duper major awesome!

Hehe... 'Lie' is from Korean hip-hop boy group Big Bang's come-back 1st mini album 'Always', and it's also their latest single. Plus... it was written wholly by Big Bang member G-Dragon ^^ I wonder if the song's for his ex that was stalked by fans?

I just looove the "I'm sorry but I love you" part of the chorus as it's so uber catchy! and it kinda brings back memories since I've used that line before XD

Anyway, the MV is great too! It's so sweet what G-Dragon's character did for his girlfriend. And.. haha... T.O.P, SeungRi and DaeSung are looking HOT! XD

'Lie' live perf =)

Oh, and my Never Ending Wonderful Story is finally on the way! Due to some complications with the billing address that has finally been sorted out (I had to photocopy and then fax a copy of my mum's credit card to Hong Kong)... and YesAsia shipped my order out today at noon! XD

P/S: It's confirmed that DBSK/TVXQ/TVfXQ/Tohoshinki/Dong Bang Shin Ki (gosh... why do they have so many names? >_< ) will be making a stop in Malaysia (probably in December since Bangkok is around then too, but date for KL's not confirmed yet so don't quote me on this XD ) as part of their 2nd Asian Tour! Malaysian fans rejoice!*throws confetti* ^^ but Adele doesn't know if she's still enough of a fan to want to go since the 'O' album isn't her favourite *runs away* XD

[Mood : Underslept? As in the opposite of sleeping too much? XD ]

To have slightly more than 2 hours of sleep in 2 days, and still be able to function relatively well is... really good, me thinks (syok sendiri-ing XD ) Except that now... all I want to do is sleep, sleep and have more sleep. And I'm not even the type that likes to catch forty winks! XD

Oh well, I've still got an IT skill test to complete.

And... OMG! I've got to get 46/60 for my Economics trial exam in order to have a 'safer' chance of getting an A in the subject. Currently, I just missed falling into the 'A' bracket... so I've got to work harder. Not to mention the fact that I usually freeze up during important examinations, which really isn't gonna help towards getting those 46 points.

Oh, and I'm in the same group for Math DI as Tat Ren and Dong Yang. Haha... well, I guess it'll be interesting... but there could be a slight disadvantage (or might even be an advantage XD ) as we only number 3 while some other teams have 4.

Now, IT skill test beckons...

P/S: What I owe my teachers:

  • IT skill test & trial exam 2006
  • English hw
  • Accouting Report, Trial 2006
  • Two economics essay from Econs 2006 trial paper
  • I bet there's more only that I can't recall now

[Listening : Beautiful Girl - Sean Kingston ]
[Mood : Grrr.... *sharpens claws* ]

My server (or something like that) is down... which means NO Internet conenction. This is probably the WORST time to NOT have an Internet Connection since my IT project is not done. And goodness knows what happened to my group mate who's supposed to do the flash stuff and things that my old FrontPage can't do (which is basically almost all the designing stuff).

Gaah!! Everyone's finished or almost finished with theirs while I slug it out at my aunt's house, leeching her connection and trying to figure what I'll need to save for later use. And having an old version of FrontPage (since I'm fossil-ised enough to NOT have a DVD drive) while having utilized the newer version's features at college is NOT FUN!

Yes, I'm in a very bad mood. NOT having an Internet connection complicates things a lot. This means that laaaate tomorrow night (well, call it eaaarly Monday mornign if you prefer), when I'm working on my website and losing sleep (which I'm sure I'll be doing at the rate things are progressing) if I need to get something from the Net, or send/receive stuff to andfrom my group mate... I can't. Which translates to doom.

And I can't even release stress by having a quick room escape game fix >_<

PS: Not everything's bad. I received a comment on Vox today in romanized Japanese. From a fellow Koyama fan. Hehe... somehow, I feel strangely honoured that someone from Japan would leave me a comment in Japanese. That someone in japan would even read all my senseless JE ramblings XD

A nice, sweet comment too... from what I can understand of the message after applying my limited knowledge of Japanese. And she even gave me a 'this is good' (in Japanese too, of course XD). That someone would care toleave me a message even though I don't blog in her native language makes me happy ^^ NEWS fans unite! XD I REALLY should update my Vox more often and do my job as administrator/founder of the JE and NEWS communities there.

I took the plunge. Haha... Yes, my very first time shopping online ^^ But YesAsia's renowned among East Asian goods 'connoisseurs' and stuff, so it should be alright.

Expected delivery date? 21st September. The very first day of trials. Oh well, Adele... you can (although it's more like MUST) resist the temptation to watch the DVD until trials are safely over with! XD

Never Ending Wonderful Story... I'm waiting! ^^
Hmm... Gary figures I won't like the jumping about part of those DDR-like dance machines... but I think I just might, since he doesn't know that I actually like dancing and do practice on my own XD

Hey... I'm not square k? =p

I get my exercise from dancing, hula-hooping and doing stretching exercises to grow taller and become more flexible.

Yes my dear stalkers XDreaders, your's truly likes dancing. And I used to somewhat salsa as well, although I've forgotten all but the most basic salsa moves.

Ja! ^^

I think I'm seeing stars. From staring too long at the computer screen, not to mention all those harmful rays emitting from that innocuous looking contraption. Well, I certainly am a little more enlightened about poverty in Uganda, Sudan and Zambia. And it's not even my question for economics. Sadly, mine is a long way from completion (I don't have the energy and brainpower to stay up past 2am today)... and I'm kind of playing Russian Roulette and banking on the fact that with 9 others before me, it won't be my turn to present my answers later in the day.

Actually, scrape that. I'm pleading hard that with 7 more people before ANY of my group members will be called upon to present... my whole group will get away tomorrow. Muahahaha. Zeus, I hope this sincerest wish of mine reaches you. Haha... well, you can tell I've been devouring mythology XD

Anyhooo... time for this zombie-fied chocolate-coated ichigo (haha... you know I'm zombie-fied and/or stressed when I'm zoinked enough to start referring to myself as a strawberry =p ) to lie herself down on her field of green grass (bed, of course... what did you think? XD )

Yay! I get to place my order for Never Ending Wonderful Story middle of next week! Yup, I've been given the go-ahead by my mum!

But, this means I probably won't be getting Arashi Around Asia anytime soon (Adele wants!! >_< )

So effectively, I chose NEWS over Arashi. And the fact that I didn't ask dad to scour Singapore for Arashi Around Asia or Arashi's new album Time on my behalf is because... I'm saving that request for NEWS' new album (whenever it is that they'll be releasing one)

Anyway, here's the CM for Never Ending Wonderful Story:
